- Female loggerhead turtles lay 3-5 nests between April and September, every 2-3 years
- Adult loggerheads are on average 3 feet long and weigh 250 pounds
- Loggerhead hatchlings average 2 inches in length and weigh just 1/20th of a pound
- Loggerheads feed on whelks and conch, using their tough beaks to crack the shells
- Major loggerhead nesting grounds in the Atlantic are in North Carolina-Florida
